About Touchward Institute
The standard is the standard.
The Mission
This work is for the people who are tired of being lied to.
Tired of being gaslit by institutions that present managed certainty as honest information. Tired of being false-promised by systems that optimize for their own continuity over the people they claim to serve. Tired of going looking for better answers and finding a different market selling the same certainty in different packaging.
Tired of having the feeling first — that something didn't add up — and being talked out of it. By credentialed voices. By consensus. By the social cost of saying it out loud.
Those people were never given the tools to evaluate what was being done to them. Touchward Institute is building those tools. Both directions simultaneously — outward toward the information environment, and inward toward the beliefs people inherited before they were old enough to examine them.
This is not a media literacy initiative. It is not a fact-checking service. It is not a bias detector.
It is an epistemic integrity institute. The distinction matters.
Nullius in Verba
Touchward does not ask you to trust it.
The MTIS 3.0 framework — the scoring methodology behind Doksis — is published. The reasoning behind every score is visible. The standard is stated before it is applied. You can examine the methodology, disagree with a finding, and make the case that the score is wrong.
That is the point.
An institution confident enough in its standards to invite scrutiny of them is an institution worth scrutinizing. The moment Touchward stops publishing its methodology and starts asking for deference is the moment it has become the thing it was built to examine.
Nullius in verba.
Take no one's word for it. Including ours.
The Founder
Justin Weber is a documentary filmmaker and brand strategist with twenty years of production experience. That work put him inside institutions most people only see from the outside — corporations, nonprofits, athletic organizations, media companies, legal proceedings. Small operations and large ones.
What he found, consistently, was a gap between how institutions present themselves and how they actually operate. Not because the people inside them are uniquely dishonest. Because the structures they operate within reward certain behaviors and punish others. Integrity, in modern institutional life, has become the exception rather than the design.
That observation is the intellectual foundation of every tool Touchward Institute builds.
In 2013, his father was murdered in Pensacola, Florida.
The case remains unsolved.
The lead investigator left the Escambia County Sheriff's Department. The case was not reassigned. The file sat idle. Nobody noticed. Justin found out by going back to Pensacola and asking for an update in person.
The family located the last known person to see his father alive by searching publicly available arrest records — and handed that information to the department.
An investigator was eventually assigned and traveled to Kentucky to interview the last known person to see his father alive. The interview produced no movement in the case.
That is one case. The pattern it demonstrates runs through every institution this work examines.
Every tool on this site is a response to that finding. The work began there. It has not stopped.
